Rebec tailored amalgam separator maintenance program
Rebec announces a tailored maintenance approach to amalgam separator cartridge replacement.
Amalgam separators capture amalgam efficiently but they also capture all other solids going down the evacuation system. The main contributor to amalgam separator filling is from hygiene use of abrasives, tooth restoration, miscellaneous debris, and vacuum line bacteria. Because each office is unique in its solids loading of the vacuum system Rebec has instituted a tailored usage and maintenance program that generally reduces maintenance costs for this equipment by potentially extending the active duration of use of the removable collecting container.
In the past, Rebec has maintained a fixed 12-month acceptable use period for the removable collecting container on all Rebec CatchHg amalgam separator systems. Through detailed ongoing studies of actual office applications of this equipment we have been able to tailor the service interval potentioally extending use from 12 months to as much as 21 months duration. This results in a potential annual decrease in maintenance costs of as much as 43%.
Rebec now only requires the initial use of the removable collecting container to be set at 12 months. At the end of this initial period of operation the collecting container is replaced and the spent unit is sent back to the Pristine Environmental Services permitted treatment facility. At Pristine the collecting container is disinfected, drained, weighed, opened, inspected, emptied, cleaned, and refurbished for reuse. From this detailed inspection we are able to, in most cases, extend future collector cartridge use duration up to a length of 21 months.
Because Rebec is the only amalgam separator manufacturer to directly manage the replaceable amalgam collecting cartridges from their equipment in use we are the only amalgam separator manufacturing company to offer such a tailored maintenance program. As an added benefit to this inspection program, from these inspections we are also able to identify operational problems with the amalgam separator that may warrant a service call. This service relieves the dental staff from having to continuously inspect the equipment for problems and determine when to call for service.
Rebec truly makes the maintenance of your amalgam separator equipment as simple as possible and now potentially at a considerable savings too.
